MEETING PEOPLE

As a new parent it helps to know other parents living locally - people with children the same age. Through the NCT, you can be part of a network of parents and baby groups. In Mendip we run a range of different events. Some held in each others houses and some run in locals halls rather like a playgroup.

It's a great way to meet other parents, share information, swap experiences and we aim to offer support and friendship in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. We run the following meetings:

MEETING DETAILS
Coffee Groups These are sessions for everyone, children up to school age.

Call our General Enquiries line on 07005 801 058 for more information.
Homebirth Support Group
Pop In & Play >> Street We also run Pop in & Play at Street every Friday at the Victoria Club, Leigh Road, Street from 10.00am to 11.45am. The Branch Library will be available at these sessions on the first Friday of every month.

Street Pop in & Play Co-ordinator - Kate.
Bumps & Babes >> Wells Bumps & Babes meet every Monday in the Cafeteria at Wells Leisure Centre between 11.30am and 1.30pm. Come along after the Parent & Baby Pool session (9.30am-11.30am), or before Antenatal Swimming sessions (2.00pm-4.00pm), or just for a chat and a coffee with some Bumps & Babes. Hope to see you there!

Wells Bumps & Babes Co-ordinator - Sophie.
Social Swimming Call our General Enquiries line on 07005 801 058 for more information.
One Off Events We also plan a few 'one off' meetings at choice attractions in our area every so often - so we can get together and have some fun whilst the kids play! (eg Farm visits, Indoor Soft play venues, Cream Teas etc. & Parents nights outs etc.)

If you would like to find out dates and venues for all these meetings please contact us, refer to the listings in our newsletter or see our events diary.

For Coffee Groups, please phone the organiser in advance to check location details and that the event is still happening - unforseen changes do occur resulting in events being altered or cancelled.

Why not host a Coffee Group yourself? It's a great way to meet people in similar situations to yourself, without even having to leave the comfort of your own home. Anyone can host one - just give us a ring!

Please note that at all venues mothers are welcome to breastfeed at any time and a separate room will be made available if they or their babies prefer. There will also be facilities for warming bottles.

We are now asking for a small 50p donation when you attend one of our meetings. As a branch we have many indirect costs to cover and we need revenue to keep the branch going. We appreciate your support and understanding. Thank You.
