WHAT CAN THE NCT DO FOR YOU?
We offer support to parents during pregnancy, childbirth and after - through antenatal classes, postnatal support, breastfeeding support and friendship through our open house network. See each relevant page to find out how to join in with our activities.
Here's what exisiting members have to say about their experience with the NCT (excerpts from articles written in our newsletters). We hope that what they say will encourage you to join in.
It was exactly two years ago that I was three months pregnant and Rowan and I had just been to our first NCT class. Up until that point I did not know anything about the organisation ...... I didn't really know anything about having a baby.
My experience of the NCT has been wholly positive. This was brought home to me just before Christmas. My son Harry was rushed to hospital for an emergency operation and we all ended up staying for nearly a week. Every day, friends I had made through the NCT were there, in person, on the phone or driving me around when I was too exhausted. I will never forget this and it solidified in my mind that I should stand as Chair; now I suppose it is time that I give something back.

I am very grateful to the NCT for the support we received both through antenatal classes and postnatal support. Bumps and Babes has been invaluable to me - having a reason to go out during the week, other than to buy nappies, was really important in the first few months. I have met some lovely people too.

I would like to express my thanks to the NCT - particularly Bumps and Babes, who offered me company and companionship when I was new to the area.

I can't imagine what my life would be like if I had not got involved with the NCT. I was fairly new to the area and had not established many friends and had no family close by. Contact with other mums through Bumps and Babes helped me cope with early motherhood and were the highlight of my week. Two years on I have developed firm friendships which I hope will last a lifetime.
Sarah.
